Clearances across eastern Dumfries & Galloway
Gretna is only a short drive from Carlisle, and the M74 and A75 put Annan, Lockerbie, Dumfries and Moffat well within our reach. We clear red sandstone townhouses and terraces, bungalows, post-war family homes, farmhouses with barns and outbuildings, and rural cottages throughout the eastern part of the region.
If your property is further west towards Galloway, get in touch with the postcode and we will tell you honestly whether we can help and how travel affects the quote.

What clearances here involve
Town houses and terraces
Dumfries, Annan and Lockerbie have plenty of sandstone terraces and townhouses, often with steep stairs and limited parking. Telling us about back lanes, driveways or nearby parking helps us load quickly and considerately.
Farms and rural properties
In Annandale, Eskdale and the countryside around Gretna, clearances often include barns, sheds and workshops full of tools, timber and scrap metal. We separate metal and wood for recycling and pass usable furniture on for reuse. Mention anything hazardous, such as old chemicals or asbestos sheeting, at the quote stage.
Estates and executry
Many clearances here follow a death in the family. In Scotland the estate process is called executry, and it is worth checking with the solicitor or executor before arranging a full clearance, so any valuation can be done first. We set aside papers, photographs and keepsakes as we find them, and nothing personal is thrown away without your say.
How it works
Send photos of each room, plus any loft, garage, outbuildings and garden, by WhatsApp to 07898 719 509 for a free, no-obligation quote. A visit can be arranged for larger properties. We price according to volume, access and travel, and anything with resale value can be offset against the cost.
Every load is sorted: usable furniture and household goods go to charity shops and reuse projects, metals, electricals, textiles and cardboard are recycled, and only what is left goes to licensed waste facilities. See our house clearance service, our probate and estate clearance page, or our furniture removal service for single items.
Making the day easier
A little preparation goes a long way. Make a short list of anything going to family members, tell us about any documents you are still looking for, and let us know about parking, steps or narrow lanes near the property. If you live elsewhere, keys can usually be collected from a solicitor, estate agent or neighbour, and we will send updates while we work.
There are no upfront charges. You pay on completion, once you are satisfied with the work.
